Workshops
PROFESSIONAL ARTIST DEVELOPMENT
For artist growth, mental health support and skills development, we organize and manage film and theater workshops, for skills training and mentorships, led by teaching artists and industry professionals from across Uganda and the United States. Our work encourages cultural exchanges to break the boundaries of African culture. We thus promote positive reception for African storytelling to improve the Black Experience around the world.
African Play Readers
CELEBRATING AFRICAN PLAYWRIGHTS
The African Play Readers (APR) series creates a platform for the appreciation of African storytelling, reading works by living and fallen Playwrights, both celebrated and little known writers and engaging in dialogues about theater, led by African theater makers and managers on the continent and in the diaspora. The inaugural series in 2020, was produced by Sebamala Arts, supported by The African Theater Magazine and WAKA Talent Agency. Plays were read over zoom, reaching audiences across Africa, the United States and Europe.
